I wonder if a small card could be made to twist around those pins to a Compact Flash connector. That would open up tinkering with surplus microdrives and other things. Does anyone know where I look to find out the pinout of the SSD connector? "Germanium" Jack |

To find the hard drive activity LED output (pin39 of a standard IDE cable) I had to get the pinout of the controller chip on the MDD SSD, then follow that pin out to the connector. Using that technique, you could reverse engineer all the pins, and build the board you are thinking of. I imagine the pinout is SOMEWHERE on the net, I doubt MDD and RunCore just built their drives without a spec sheet somewhere. |

Maybe the IDE bus is on there. The problem would be I think that you would need BIOS support as well. Hacked MacBook Air SuperDrive. Real HD LED. Quad booting OS X, Ubuntu 8.1, XP Pro and Windows 7. |

Like anything PCI related, the USB bus, who knows what else since we haven't come across the correct pinout yet. |
