Probably why the software on the CD didn't work. Or something. The CDs that come with them could be different. But since you're not going to use that anyway, it shouldn't matter. Note for anybody else reading this, there are other choices that are cheaper, like in this thread: http://mydellmini.com/forum/mac-pro-...y-t884s25.html The card in question there is available from Amazon for only $44.00, and would probably work with the same drivers. In that thread you'll see that the two guys who tried this both were using OSX and both found that the new card used more power, and that it didn't really work as well as the original when they weren't on 802.11n networks, so switched back to the original card. I guess over time we'll see if others feel the same way. ell 1505 b/g/n |

Thanks bill Second question (thank you for your patience), if I already own a Netgear USB (WN111v2), is there a driver for Ubuntu (and how would I add the driver)? Standard Mini 9 with 32G memory |

I got the 1505 card and downloaded the drivers mentioned earlier in this section - the problem I am experiencing is that when I boot up my mini9 - it connects at 270mbps, then it starts decreasing until it gets down to 1mbps. I have done manythings to my router - reset, reflashed the firmware - I even went out and bought another "N" capable router and there is no change - I am guessing that it has to be a setting, but for the life of me......I have not figured out which one.?????? FYI I am running a linksys WRT310N - and have a WRT350N . . . . . . . TIA Bruce |

![]() ATM on my Mini runnin' Dell Wireless 1505 WLAN in draft-N mode using the 802.11a freq band at sustained 270Mbps speed. Not sure why your speeds would be dropping...interference possibly? Did dump the stock Linksys firmware on my gateway WRT600N router in favor of DD-WRT though and it is much improved! ![]() Looks like both your WRT310N/WRT350N revision1 routers are supported by DD-WRT according to their router-database: http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv3/dd-wrt/hardware.html | |
