Default Bluetooth Module J613H Component - 08-11-2009, 11:25 PM

I recently called Dell at 800-357-3355 (ext 7244161) to buy the BT internal module for my Mini 9. The guy said that after shipping (which he was willing to waive when I pressed him on the price) came to $54.41

Ive been reading everywhere on this and other forums that the price on this device was more like $19.99 or $24.99 Why is it now $54 and does anyone know where else I can find this piece a bit cheaper?

looks like they are $25 shipped on eBay now, and they come from China. I sold him mine for the same, shipped priority mail (and mine included the screws ) That was the only one I had, btw.

My module arrived from China as-specified with mounting screws, cable and complete installation instructions.
-it was also covered with labels, which I removed to allow better heat radiation.

The process was pretty painless, and now my other Mini 9 has working internal Bluetooth!
Only thing left to do is mod an internal USB port into the thing and it's a match for my original one!

I received mine as well, but Hellowifi (the Ebay Vendor) emailed me to tell me they're shipping a new cable. According to them, the one shipped with the J613H is defective and will damage the bluetooth module. I went back to check on the auction I bought from (they had like 20 J613H's listed in a single auction) and they'd changed the title from listing "J613H for Mini9" to "J613H for Mini 10v". Is the cable the same between the Mini 9 and the 10V? Anyone have experience with this?

Apart from this confusion, my experience with Hellowifi was really good. Just looking forward to getting BT installed.

Nope. different cables. I bought a module and got the mini9 cable. Didn't come close to fitting my 10v. There is a thread here somewhere with pictures. You might want to hunt that up to see what the different cables and connectors look like.

Just an update to the prices. I contacted Dell via online chat today, to inquire about buying a bluetooth module for the new-to-me Mini 9 I'd just inherited:

Part # J613H (Bluetooth module w/o cable) - $14.99 + tax
Part # DV7D8 (Bluetooth cable for Mini 9) - $1.99 + tax
Part # 12NRM (Bluetooth module & Cable bundle) - $15.99 + tax

Shipping is $6.99

Hope that helps. Thanks to all on these forums with the great information that has helped me prepare to begin upgrading this unit. Next up is the SSD, so it looks like I have some reading to catch up with.
