First time trying to upgrade the mini. I have wireless A in my house and also at many places I frequent, I find the 5 ghz A is much more resilient and keeps signal better in my old block house.
I popped in the new card, windows wouldn't boot. I turned off the wireless setting in the bios, then windows would boot. I let windows update run, hoping it would see the new wireless card and install the drivers for it. That didn't work.
I removed the broadcomm software/drivers thinking it may be interfering, didn't work.
I installed the intel drivers off the disk that came with the card (it yelled that it wasn't for that computer but I explored the disk found the driver directory and used the manual install from there, it sees the card and loaded the drivers). Now I'm screwed.
After installing the intel drivers the os will no longer load, probably I created a driver problem. I can't even boot into safe mode to remove it....only other idea I've got is to hit safe mode with dos prompt and look for the intel directory and remove it, about out of other ideas. Thinking about putting the old card back in there and trying to reboot...very aggravating.......any ideas?
