On my Mini 9 with the factory install, the disk queues frequently go to 100+ and during this time windows cpu utilization goes up very high. During this time the CPU is at 100% and you get locked out of the machine for a few seconds. After disabling the windows prefetcher and making a few tweaks things seemed to be better but it was only because the optimizations put less load on the SSD
. The computer never does the momentary freezing anymore but I still notice the disk queue lengths going very high. High disk queue lengths should never happen on a desktop pc, it means that the disk subsystem cannot keep up with the IO
Since I did the optimization, it is hard to really notice this under normal utilization but when you are playing music or doing anything realtime, the system will stutter.
Anyone have similar experience with their mini 9?
