The CPU temp should not get that hot. What probably happened is that the thermal pad between the palmrest metal panel and the CPU is not firmly attached.

I didn't recognize anything but the high temperature. Maybe it was a bad idea to run BOINC on a computer without a fan. ( :? Hindsight is always easier than foresight - MINI9 has no "rescue-fan" or "emergency-shutdown" when a critical temp is reached.

Maybe you're right and there was something wrong with the thermal pad. Otherwise the MINI9 was made for burn-out.

The idling temp was round about 67°c (<20°c ambient temp)

MINI9, N270, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB SSD
