and a lot of the issues apply to my problem, but I figured I'd make my own thread for sake of being more specific. I am running XP/1GB/16GB by the way. So my problem is that my wifi definitely seems to connect, but says there is "limited or no connectivity" even when I am inches from my router. I recently reformatted and reinstalled XP, and then proceeded to go through installing all the drivers from the Dell provided disk, and everything seems to work except for the wifi.
The only thing I really noticed, was that in the list of drivers Dell provides there is one for "Atheros" wireless something or other, but when I try to install it it says that it can't find the hardware. So does that mean it got loose or something, or that the card is bad, or is it even necessary at all, seeing as I have the Broadcom drivers up and running?
I ALSO know that nothing is wrong with the router, as I connected on my dad's Vostro right next to my Mini which couldn't connect. And I get a perfectly fine connection plugged into an Ethernet cord.
ANY help on this topic would be GREATLY APPRECIATED as I would really like to have the freedom of wifi back instead of being tethered to the wall in the family office.
