Maybe. If you don't have enough disk space for a 2G of hibernate file, I could well imagine that Windows would choose not to see the second gig.

Okay I think I missed responding to a few people, sorry bout that. If I put the original RAM in then it still shows the 1g, the only change is in bios and there it shows only 1g. When I stick the second RAM module in it goes back to the same thing.
As far as hibernation, I disabled it all together and still getting the same response. However, I have a factory 32G SSD in which I have only used 5G of.
I removed the factory 1G stick and replaced it with a Kingston 2g module, it didn't like it that time so I have a 17" Dell inspiron with factory samsung ram and I put one of the 2G modules from it and windows feels the same about it. This one boggles my mind to be honest with you.
Anyhow, thanks for all the hard work on this one guys and gals! I don't really intend on doing anything so overwhelming that it will need two gig but after I bought it, it sure would be nice to use. If we can't come up with anything within the next few days I might install Ubuntu back on it and see what it says. If it likes it I might go back with a fresh install of windows and see what it says again. I tried doing a repair earlier today but I screwed up the usb image and I need to compile a new one and I didn't really feel like doing that today. I had to much to do. Again, thanks for all your hard work and ideas and keep it up! You all are awesome!
