Mine froze also until I hit load defaults in the bios. If you have done that, and tried everything else, then yes go ahead and flash. In either case, it needs to go back to Dell. A system freezing is totally unacceptable. At that point I would flash it too.

Since you seem willing to take that chance, I say go for it. First reload default values in the BIOS, as suggested previously, & if that doesn't fix it then re-flash the BIOS. If you brick your machine, at least you know it'll get fixed.

Just as an update, the system has been quite stable since I just reset bios values to their default state. I forgot to do that initially. Thanks for the suggestion.
