Hello first time poster here....
I have recently installed vista onto my mini. I used a vlite version. Everything went fine including windows updates. I went to dell site downloaded the Jmicron drivers and installed them onto the mini. After the install when putting a SDHC card into the system it does nothing. Like other posters it makes the sound impling it has been found. After the sound it is not listed in "computer". In the device manager it is listed with the micron drivers but still nothing. I uninstalled the Jmicron drivers restarted the mini....after i just pushed in the SDHC card and windows loaded a set a sd host drivers and the card works fine.
Then after all of this i double check the device manager. Inside i still have the 2 base system devices with "!" still by them. Even witht this the cards still works fine.
I was messing around with installing and reinstalling the Jmicron drivers for a bit. I decided to use windows feature to find the driver for me. Out of some act of god windows did find the correct driver for the SZd slot. I checked the device manager and the Jmicron drivers were all installed and the card was found by windows.
Sadly 4 days later i compressed the boot file by mistake, after restart gave me an error saying it was compressed. Instead of messing with it i reinstalled the vista OS.
Same vlite ver. as before same steps taken. Now im back to having 2 base devices not found in device manager. With the sd card working through windows default drivers for SD. I just really forgot the steps i took in order to have the Jmicron drivers work, and have the SD card with a drive letter when inserted into the mini.
Any help would be great. I saw some posts regaurding this but no answers except try reinstalling the Jmicron drivers. Which i have done several times, including the mini 12 drivers with no luck.
