Default Problem with new SSD - 09-18-2012, 10:46 AM

Hi Everyone!

I got a mini 9, which apparently had a problem with the original SSD and was replaced by a new SuperTalent FEM32GFDL. The Bios recognize it without problem and I can even start installing Ubuntu on it, but the installation always crashes.

Using a LiveLinux I can access the SSD and change the partitions and also see that the files were copied to there, but disk is still not bootable. I have tried to manually change the MBR but I always receive an error.

I have also updated the bios to A05, but no success so far.

Does anyone have an idea of what I could try?

Thanks all!

I just went through this with my wife's desktop. It was the RAM (Crucial Ballistix) that was 4+ years old. Wish I could say I checked it 1st. I replaced the HD & then the MB before trying some old unused G. Skill RAM. She is now using 12.04 & loves it.
