Default Left click mouse button stopped working - 01-21-2009, 01:31 AM

Suddenly today, the left mouse button stopped working. I've rebooted, swapped the buttons in Control Panel, and swapped them back. Nothing has spilled. The touch pad double click works, but I don't like to double click. I haven't done anything in the way of updates or installs. I think it's a hardware problem and I will have to ship it to Dell, but is there something else I should try?

I was hoping this was a driver problem, so I downloaded the Synaptic driver, but it's still not working. Must be a hardware failure. I did uninstall the Dell Touchpad software first

I have the same problem with my daughter's Dell Mini 9. Did you resolve your issue?

when the double click works, are you tapping the left BUTTON or the actual PAD part? (just for clarification on my part)

I meant that I could double click on the pad to select even when left click button didn't work. Dell replaced the palmrest which fixed the the problem

Yes, they do, and they provide a prepaid mailing label. If you don't return the old part they will charge you.
