I guess the next thing I'd try is the Secure Erase program found here
. Then try the install again. It should find the SSD
to be clear. (Caveat - I have not actually tried the SecureErase program on the Mini 9's SSD
- it may not work.) Otherwise, you might see if your XP install offers a repair option that lets you go to command mode. You could then do use diskpart to delete the partitions. Google diskpart for instructions.
However, I think you are missing something. When you boot the install CD, what is on the first screen that it stops at? You may in fact have a restore CD, which would have fewer options, but which should offer to delete existing partitions.
