I have owned and/or hooked up friends with 3 different Mini 9's over the last two years. Two had 32 gb STEC SSD
's and one had a 64 gb STEC SSD
. All three have experienced SSD
failure inside of two years (always after the one year warranty expiration).
That seems to be an incredibly high failure rate, or am I just that unlucky? Anyone heard of any class action against Dell or STEC for these SSD
's; any other course of recall?
At this point I am not sure it is worth the minimum of $100 investment for replacement SSD
's. Any thoughts on whether to replace or move on to a Mini 10? Also if replacement, what are the reliable SSD
manufactures to consider?
Thanks in advance.
