OK I have a dell mini 9 with no F11 key. I got an unmountable boot volume error and window will not load. I have what I think is the correct windows xp CD that came with it. I went into startup/BIOS and changed the boot to external drive and the CD started to load setup. But at what seemed to be a good way through I got ANOTHER error screen. So I redid it and at the SAME EXACT POINT during setup I got a blue screen error.
I don't have anything of real importance saved on my mini, so I wanted to do a restore. I cannot figure out how to do it. No F11 key and FnZ just gets me what I get when I use 2 or 0. I cannot find how to repair or restore on the bios setup utility. My mini is older than a year but not terribly old. Can anyone help be get it up and running again?

Here is some more info. i am using the external CD/DVD reader that I ordered from dell at the same time as the mini, and I am reading that it may not have the power to run the discs? That may be why using the discs is failing at the same time each time I try? What else can I do?
