Default PCIe transplant into wwan possible? - 07-07-2010, 02:42 AM

I was wondering if i was to remove the PCIe slot from a dead laptop and resolder it onto the mini 9's wwan where dell removed it because of my wwan incapable model. Would i be able to use it for anything? Can it be done without trashing the mobo?

People have soldered in a MiniPCIe connector in the WWAN space. However, the wiring for this connector is USB only so the best you could do is use it for another USB card such as WWAN or WLAN.
