I have seen several reports of this problem. The only thing I can think to suggest is to replace the coin cell battery, though that usually doesn't cause symptoms such as this. Nevertheless, 3-4 years from such batteries is typical. You'll have to disassemble the Mini to do this - instructions are here.

If you'd like to really dive in and see if you can trace the problem, grab a multimeter and use the continuity function to basically connect the dots. Though there are some components that this won't work on (like capacitors) since they are made to store more energy than the multimeter puts out. If you have questions, I'd say the best place that I'm aware of for electronics repair (through casual use myself) is Badcaps Forums - Salvation For Your Hardware!
A lot of those guys do that stuff professionally and are very willing to help, but make sure you have a decent camera and aren't afraid to solder/take things apart.
