Well, the good news is the machine seems fine, boots normally, but the keyboard, I think, is toast. I didn't do the rice trick, probably should have, but I did peel the plastic barrier away from the back so it could dry out from both sides and let it sit for a few days. It's definitely dry, but not even one key works and I have reset the ribbon cable twice.
What do you think, I hope a new keyboard will do the trick, I'm gonna pull the trigger on one of the US-Intl ones, want one anyway. Funny thing too is that it took a long time to be able to power it up the first time, not even a light. Only after repeated unplugging, removal of the battery and pushing of the power button did it finally come alive....whew! Now it seems fine and starts up normal all the time, weird.
