Default Dell mini 9 screen problem - 04-13-2010, 04:36 PM

hello, I have a mini 9 with mac OS X installed.

I recently dropped it on the carpet face down. Now when i boot up, I see a white screen (lit up) with vertical lines across the screen. The mini is shared, so I know it is working fine via another macbook. Question is, if I see the screen lit up with dark vertical lines, does that mean the screen itself is ok?

what's the best way to diagnose whether the connection/connector is broken or the screen is broken?

I really cant think of any other way than to pull it apart and check....if its still under warranty call Dell, just dont mention the "dropping factor"...just tell them it doesnt work...they will send out a tech to check it for you....Good Luck...

I am actually ready to pull it apart. Got the manual from Dell site. My problem is even after I pull it apart, I dont know how to tell whether it is the screen or the connector's problem, unless I can test the screen independently, which i cant.

well, i guess i will have to call Dell and fork out the $100 plus hourly rate....
