Default Dropped Mini - 04-08-2010, 10:36 PM

I dropped my mini earlier and a little smoke came from the vent, so i powered off the machine and removed the battery. I took the small back cover off (where you go to change the ram) and it all looked fine. I've put the battery back in and booted it up and it's running fine.

Is there anything I should look for or be aware of?Do you think the 'smoke' could have just been dust or something?

In my experience - where there is smoke there is fire!!!

You may have gotten away lucky and have simply shorted a component which may not have caused any lasting damage, I believe it is unlikely this was dust as the mini has no fan there are limited areas for the dust to build up on.

My only suggestion is to back-up all your data while your unit is still working, it may be nothing but if you have caused a major fault which is simply waiting until you mini gets hot again she may die for good.

Could of been dust? Did you smell smoke at all?
