Default New Wireless card won't let me boot - 02-16-2010, 07:54 PM

Hi was just wondering if anyone could help with this problem. I have a dell inspiron 1720 and a dell mini 9. I want to swap the wireless cards around as the card in the 1720 isn't compatible with Snow Leopard and the one in the Mini 9 is (i'm turning the inspiron into a hackbook). But when I place the card from the 1720 into the mini 9, it won't boot it just gets stuck at the windows XP logo just after the bios screen. The card I'am trying to use in the mini 9 is a WM3945ABG

thanks for any help Jake

EDIT: when I turn wireless control off in the BIOS it boots but card doesn't show in device manager, is there a way of making it show because I could always use Intel's Wireless Utilty to control my WiFi like on a normal non dell PC
this could be a stupid suggestions so just ignore it if it is lol

I dunno, try uninstalling the Broadcom WiFI drivers before putting the Intel WiFi in?

I can tell you that a 3945 worked perfectly in my Mini 9 under Linux.

I've heard of people with similar problems with other Intel cards bought from eBay....
