I have a 4GB SSD
, 512MB Ram, White Mini 9 and I just decided to try and reinstall Ubuntu.
First, I had swapped out the ram for a Patriot 2GB PC25300 667MHz and everything was working and it booted Ubuntu fine. I then decided to reinstall the OS (I bought it from someone else, and want to wipe it clean). I connected my portable, slim Buffalo DVD-RW and boot up with the External CD/DVD option. I read the screen, pressed Enter, typed "proceed" and it began to spin and went onto the next screen. Here, it got all the way to "Copying system ROOT onto harddisk drive" and never went passed it. I shut it off and tried again and had no luck. I then took out the ram I put in and replaced it with the stock 512MB one. This time it wouldn't load at all when I select "External CD/DVD". I am now on the screen that asks me to either run a Memory test or System test. I'm currently running them to see the output
Any suggestion on why this is happening? Thanks. I'm useless without my wonderful Mini 9 :-(
EDIT: I have run both system tests and everything passes, I just can't load into the OS or from the CD-Drive. I am always brought to the "Choose an Option" Test screen.
