Default Error when partitioning RunCore IV PATA 32 GB - 10-10-2009, 08:35 PM

I can't get Disk Utility on Mac to partition new RC 32GB SST.

I Open Disk Utility, select the SSD in the left side column of drives, click the "Partition" tab. Select Volume Scheme; 1 Partition from the drop down list.
Click the Option Button below the partition window, choose the first button GUID Partition Table and click OK. Name the SSD (no spaces),
Select "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" from the Volume Format drop-down list.
Click Apply and Partition Buttons and...

nothing. Disc Utility either hangs or reports error, permission denied?

When I look up info on SSD in Finder, Sharing and Permissions tab reads "You can only read"

Any suggestions?

Lots of people seem to run into this - readonly SSDs. Contact MDD, or whoever you bought it from, and arrange a replacement.
