Default Windows 7 Mini 9 Cursor Missing - 08-15-2009, 03:29 PM

I lost my cursor after loading the wireless switch driver. Bluetooth got its driver but the cursor vanished. I did a search and I see that others seemed to have a similar issue, but I don't see a good resolution. I did not install the touchpad driver.

I've tried a couple of fresh reloads and installing the drivers in different order, and it still comes up the same, after I install the wireless switch battery driver, it disappears.

It looks like I might go back to XP. Does anyone know if you install XP after Vista or 7 have formatted the drive, without deleting the partition, is the alignment still good?

TIA

Try selecting a different mouse pointer scheme. For some reason, something caused mine to be unselected (I put it back to the standard mouse pointer scheme).

Alternatively, try enabling mouse tails (that was my initial workaround until I discovered the above point).

Thanks Striker, adding the tail worked for me.

I admit this is a weird issue. I had cause to reinstall Win7 on my Mini9 and this time the cursor would not come back until I enabled pointer trails. This is evidently not an issue new to Win7, I found reports of it on Vista as well (on various PCs.) Usually the graphics driver was identified as a culprit.

The same thing happened to me when I loaded WIN 7 as a dual boot with the existing XP installation.

After a fair bit of swearing and two re-boots, it was fine. I could find no obvious reason for the problem, but it has not happened again.
