Hello all, I had really good luck using these forums when I was getting set up so I thought I would ask another question.
I got OS X running perfectly on my Mini 9 with 16 GB Super Talent SSD
Drive. Everything was fine until last night when I was trying to empty the trash. I chose "Secure Empty Trash" rather than the regular option out of curiosity (I hadn't seen the option before). However, when the progress bar came up it simply stayed where it was at for a half hour. I had hardly anything in the trash so I knew something was wrong. I tried to quit the process, it wouldn't let me. Then I tried to shut down the Mini 9 from OS X, still didn't do anything. Finally, I figured I had no other option but to do a hard reboot and I held the power button down. Probably not the best idea, because when I tried to turn it on I got some kind of boot error message and nothing else.
Anyway, I tried installing XP again (I don't have a USB drive big enough to do the OS X install anymore) and everything seemed to work fine until after setup (I had to format the drive as FAT rather than NTFS for some strange reason). Now when I try to turn on my computer I get some message about how the device is not supported or something. Sounds like some kind of corruption problem but I'm no expert.
Has anyone else had a similar problem to this? Is there someone who can tell me if my SSD
is shot or if there is some way I can get it in working order again? I am kinda pissed because I payed extra for the ST drive. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
