My wife bought a second-hand but un-used mini 9. The seller had gotten it included with a cell-phone subscription but never used it. It had never been unpacked (as far as I could tell) and needed to be configured on power-on. It's a real fun thing and my wife enjoys it immensely, except for one thing: The (Original Dell) battery won't charge. It doesn't even show up in the system tray icon.
It's running BIOS A01, should I try to downgrade to A00 (see below about the 8-cell battery)?
We've tried the powered-on installing of the battery-trick, Is there a specific procedure to that?
We've bought an ebay 8-cell battery in case that might work, that one actually says it's loaded 51% and does show in the system tray icon, but still doesn't work.
When we first installed the unit we hooked up the power and it had the white led on and the orange led blinking all the time. We thought that was the way it should be. With the 8-cell battery it does three blinks and then pauses.
My wife put in a support email, but hasn't heard anything yet after three weeks. She is not the original owner, that complicates things I guess.
BTW, We're in the Netherlands, Europe.
