You need to make sure you are talking with Dell SPARE PARTS. They are the only people who can make this work, and even then, only after some pushing.

Just call them. The online agents can't seem to find or have a very difficult time finding these parts - you have to physically call in.

I guess i was lucky, the sales guy said that he could not verify the part i wanted was compatible, so I told him i would take responsibility for the compatibility.
Then it was out of stock
BUT I DID get him to ask for it from the warehouse! Said it takes 24-48 hours..
Sounds like I might have gotten a bit of luck with this guy!

For those that may be interested, I just received my replacement mini with a 32GB drive. From what I can see on the STEC itself, the Dell part number should be:

0U818M (zero-U, not oh-U)

OK, I seriously tried 5 times this morning to 1-800-357-3355. They ask me for my name, my phone, my shipping address, and then they ask me for my service tag. I tell them the part I want with the part number and they come back and say they dont have it but they do have the wireless nic with bluetooth for $149. I tell them that is the incorrect part and if they could please look again. They come back 2 min later and say they do not have the part.
I totally have this whole skit memorized. Shoot me now... please.

OK, on my 8th try this morning I got somebody that found the part right away. They told me that it was out of stock and that I should call back in 2 days. That's the farthest I've gotten so far but I'm happy that I got somebody that found the part.
I guess I'll try again on Sunday.

I planned on running Xbench on it, since I am just going to restore my OSX time machine image back onto it, but it should be easy to compare my 16GB xbench results to the 32.

He was able to find it on the first try. He must have done them before because he knew the part number as soon as i rattled it off - 430-3221.
Ordered it for 19$, shipping was 8 :P I was contemplating putting a INTL Keyboard on there too, for shipping cost savings but eh...

Yeah he should be pretty helpful, he's from Dell business support. I got to him through my premium login. Hopefully he's helpful for everyone else.
