I've added the 1.3mp webcam to my mini with the parts listed here... The bezel for $10.99 includes a transparent cover over where the lens peeks through, as well as a second (tiny) hole for an LED that tells you the camera is taking pix.

You could conceivably drill these holes, but 1) you'd be without the lens cover, and 2) the back of the bezel has parts of the webcam's mounting bracket on it. Judicious use of glue/tape/some adhesive might be an acceptable substitute, but it would involve experimentation.

Should you decide to try this without the replacement bezel, please post a new thread detailing your mod!

To save 11 bucks...?

I mean order from the dollar menu a few times man! I could see saving a 30 or 40 bucks but not 11. Just think of what gas used to cost and all that you are saving.

Nope. This camera really sucks ass I think.

Have to agree. This camera is about what you'd expect for a $25 upgrade (it was only an extra $10 on the refurb, so figure maybe $3-4 in actual parts). You need really good room lighting, and even then it's still fairly poor quality. OTOH, it does work--you get moving images on the other end, which is really all you should expect on something like this.

Hi, I have had the same problem with ordering the part (J613H). I had my Dell Mini replaced with one that had the proper motherboad to accomidate the Broadband wireless mobile card. This was handeled very well by the Dell CS line in the Phillipines. The Agent Leslie called every few days with an update and did an A number one job!

After recieving the proper unit I call the parts line and was told they, the blue tooth modual was not available for two weeks and to call back, he wouldn't take a back order...

So today I called 1-800-357-3355 and ordered the part number above with no problem...The part listed for 19.99 plus around 5.00 for shipping and tax.....
