| Thanks... The only thing better would have been a zipped file instead of so many files to download. Then again I guess a begger should not try to be a chooser!!

| The thing is, there are so many files from different sources, that it wouldn't be practical to do that. Plus, I'd have to find a place to upload the file. If you download from Dell's website, you can add the files you want to a "My Downloads" list, and get them as a single zip file, like you mentioned. |

| Also, UpdateChecker is a great, free windows utility app to keep all your drivers and applications up to date. http://www.filehippo.com/updatechecker/ |

What's the difference between those two? The latter is not listed on my Dell support page, but the the former is listed as "Dell Battery Meter/Wireless Select Switch"... does one of them provide on screen display for volume & screen brightness by any chance? I would love the driver for that! Cheers, Suman [edit] Also, I can't get the latest JMicron Card Reader driver to install for some reason?! After running the exe it just does nothing ![]()

| The second one really is the battery meter application - it is mislabeled. Neither provides on-screen volume or brightness controls.

| So I accidentally deleted "c:\windows\system32\drivers\EMSC.sys", and now I need it again. Can anyone email me that .SYS file, or direct me to whichever driver update link I need to visit from the first post in order to correct this issue? Thanks so much! noahk17@gmail.com I have a Dell Mini 9, XP |

| Re: Windows Drivers While I don't understand the need for a driver that supplies OSD for screen brightness, I found It would be nice to have OSD for: - audio mute (need to tell if it's muted or just turned down) - caps lock (helps you see you have caps lock on BEFORE you type, as opposed to finding out after you start typing) These types of OSD functions are usually provided by the keyboard driver. Solution: If you install the Microsoft Intellitype Pro keyboard drivers you get audio and caps lock OSD. Download the latest intellitype pro Drivers here: Download the drivers for the "Wireless Keyboard 2000" http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/downl ... ategory=MK Note: if you install this incorrectly, your keyboard and touchpad will stop working..... I installed the M$ intellitype driver, then BEFORE I REBOOTED, reselected the generic "standard 101/102 key" keyboard driver using device manager. The trick here is not using the actual keyboard driver, you use the software that is included with it. once you reboot you should have a "microsoft keyboard" icon on the desktop. Click that and select WIRELESS KEYBOARD 2000 under the "key settings tab" The hardware tab should be left as "standard 101/102 key......" You should now have volume/mute and CAPSLOCK OSD. |
