So, I tried to order the Mini today. Actually I've called 4 different occasions. First 2 times for info, 3rd time to place the order which I couldn't even though my husband put me on the account they said I needed my husband to place the order (no multiple user orders..then wtf was the point of having me on the account to begin with!?) and today was the 4th time.
I assume they never transfered my husband to the outlet sales because this lady kept on insisting I customize it and buy it through the home store. I've told her at least 6 times that I will only buy it from the outlet. She asked what is my purpose for the laptop, I told her "I'm using it for school"..She went on about how I can't add programs because there is no optical drive and that she would add it to the purchase..I told her that I didn't need it and I would be purchasing office online and just download the programs..Next...
She continued to tell me that buying from the outlet is iffy and that I would be better off buying it from the home store as it would come to me new free of flaws (Isn't that some bs considering that some of their items were once bought NEW and are now in the outlet REFURBISHED)..You be the judge..She continued to try and feed me some more bs...
I was put on hold 3 times..She said she would find the BEST deal on the Mini 9 through the home store. She gets back and tells me I am better off buying through the home store as I would BREAK EVEN from buying it through either store and it would make more sense to buy it customized NEW than through the outlet. How do you break even if my purchase price after tax is $429 vs through the Home Store it is over $500 before tax??? You would think working in the sales department you'd have your basic arithmetic down by now.
I wanted to ask if she was getting paid by commission, or by the minute because she sure was working my phone overtime..along with my nerves. lol
She also told me that there is no difference between the "Previously Ordered New", "Certified Refurbished" "Scratch and Dent" or "Off Lease". If that was the case there would be no need to filter the search or an agenda to describe the difference between them all. Just some more b.s....She is awfully good at that!
I could go on about the other things she was trying to press on me..in addition to her still pressing to make sure I don't buy it from the outlet...even after I told her it was time sensitive. LOL Oh she said she can guarantee it would get to me within 2 weeks. I laughed hysterically considering that some of you on here have made your purchase in October and have yet to received your customized order. I told her I'm aware of the many people who've placed orders last month and don't have their Mini so I find your two weeks guarantee a joke. By now I'm just THROUGH. It's all out the window by now. I gave my husband back the phone. I don't think she'd appreciate my tone or choice of words so I had to pass the phone before I get started on her.
My husband is a push over, he said just to forget it and buy it through the home store. I had to remind his behind its time sensitive. And apparently she told him it would only be a $35 difference between the two. Last I recall $429 + $35 would still make it less than $500! I just told him forget it if I am getting one I'm not going to get it through that B****. LOL
Well I thought I'd share my lovely experience with this dell sales representative. I think I'll just pay with cc or debit so I can purchase it online without the hassle of dealing with a rep to place my purchase. I dislike how dell account holders have to call to place an order. I've placed so many orders from Dell, but this one was the high lite of them all!
So..Has anyone else has any crap from them? I know you're out there!
