Default Connecting to the TV - 11-18-2008, 03:16 PM

I bought one of these adapters that goes from VGA to RCA.

I hooked it up to my mini and then to my TV. I right click, then properties, then extend desktop on this 2nd screen. Nothing.

How do I display my Mini on my TV through the RCA ports? I want to watch Hulu.

You'll need to make sure the resolution isn't too high either. Most TVs operate around 640 x 480.

Not that simple. You need a vga-to-tv converter box.

The on board video has to support vga to tv for those cables to work.

Here are the specs for the Mini 9 integrated graphics (Intel GMA 950).

It does mention TV in the "Advanced Display Capability" but not really sure how that relates to your cables.

Yeah it looks like you need a converter box..

This cable will not display a picture if used to connect a computer to a TV or any device to a computer monitor. If that is what you are intending to do, please look at our part number 40H1-50200.

I have connected my Mini 9 to a Sharp 26" LCD TV I have... However, this TV has a 15-bin VGA connector. I just purchased a male-male 15-pin VGA cable to connect the Mini to the TV and it works a charm. Image quality is amazing. Great for movies.

I assume you need something like this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...dia-_-15100005

$70, handles VGA to composite, S-Video or Component. No HDMI though, and you'll have to handle the audio separately.
