Default Mini 9 Ubuntu Firefox Streaming Videos - 06-15-2009, 05:18 AM

Haven't yet figured out how to get it all to work.

Tried FireFox Plugins, 3rd party.

Linux novice, so I need a self install or step-by-step, including, I think, how to point totem or other to the actual location of the player(s).

Not sure what version of Ubuntu your using or what your trying to do. If your talking about watching hulu or youtube, both require flash. Usually going to the site make firefox prompt you to install flash. Otherwise go to synaptic package manager and search for flash. Right click on flashplugin-installer and choose mark for installation. Next click apply and close the window when it is done.

Heres how I get new packages through the terminal:

sudo apt-cache search <SEARCH STRING>
With that you can search for like flash or adobe
when you find the package you want you can install it with:
sudo apt-get install <PACKAGE NAME>

Using this I would also recommend getting VLC along with its firefox plugin as they have helped me with streaming (at least a little bit).

I suppose the GUI package manager would also work...havent looked at it yet haha (sad considering ive had my netbook for a bit now XD)
