Well is there an answer here on speed comp vs non. I have xp pro, office2007(word, excel, PP, outlook) acrobat writer and am at 4.9 free. Not sure I have space to un-comp?

Look in the properties of your C drive, bottom of the General tab. Turn off indexing as well while you are about it. This takes a while as it has to touch every file. Some might fail to uncompress because they are in use, but that is OK as you will get most of them.
If you boot from the Ultimate Boot CD for Windows http://www.ubcd4win.com/ and uncompress the drive from that environment then no files will be in use and every file will uncompress.
