Question Max resolution... - 06-02-2009, 07:06 AM

So I have been trying to see what is the max resolution my mini can pump out. I really want to know if some way possible for me to use my 1080p TV as my monitor without having to scroll around. Anyone know?

WOOHOO first post after trolling for months! :

I just tested this yesterday in OSX.

I plugged an analog monitor cable into a Samsung 1080p TV and it worked like a charm. I had my Mini 9 + a 1920x1080 monitor!

Fired up VLC and watched a DIVX fullscreen on the TV. It felt like there was a very *slight* jitter that most people wouldn't notice. Quicktime might have played it perfectly, and I was running off battery so not sure if that makes a difference either.

Of course actual HD 1080p resolution video content wont work though I don't think...

The Mini 9 can play any 720p content pretty much - if you are using the 'right' codecs/players, etc. But reports say it can't handle 1080p stuff. Personally I haven't tried a 1080p file (but have played many, many 720p files without a hitch)
