Dell Mini 9: Should I bother with BIOS update?? - 06-02-2009, 01:01 AM
Hey all, recently I got myself a Dell Inspiron 910 netbook, and when I checked various system info/specs with Everest program I noticed that my BIOS is almost half a year old (namely this is the entry in Everest: "System BIOS Date: 12/29/2008"), now, on Dell's support website, the "Drivers & Downloads" page, I see that there is a new version available (two separate download links though, one says "DOS Version") dated 4/19/2009.
Now I am curious: should I bother updating the BIOS after only half a year, and secondly, how exactly (honestly, I have no experiences with BIOS updating even on desktops) should I do that??
Thanks in advance for any suggestion, satyr

Use this: Dell I910 Mini/Vostro A90 USB Key Drive flashBIOS Utility
The A05 update helps with the battery meter. If you have A00 or A01, you're missing the F11 and F12 keys, plus a fix for startup resolution. I'd go with A05 unless you have a specific need for something older.
