Default Dell XP Image - 05-28-2009, 12:45 PM

II was a dumbn a@# and did not backup the original image. Was anyone else smart enough to save the image on the laptop prior to doing anything to it?

I would appreciate it someone sending or posting where I can get it.

If you bought your Mini with XP, it should have come with a restore CD. Sending or posting the image is a copyright violation - please don't use this forum for such.

There is no factory image on the Minis like there is on Dell's other Laptops and Desktops.
You can request the System Restoration CDs from Dell, though, which perform what the Factory Image Restore utility does on regular Dells. It probably won't be easy and they'll probably tell you there is no such thing.....but they CAN create them for you. It may take speaking with a supervisor or two.

On the other hand, depending on the phase of the moon or something, I've had times when I've gotten them shipped by the first person I spoke with.

These aren't the regular reinstallation disks that ship with the computer.

This link gives more info.:

I have the reinstall disks. I would rather have the original image. I understand the copyright violation issue, however I have the license key so there should not be an issue.

Thank you for your comment.
