Default A Very Pleasant Experience - So Far - 05-13-2009, 02:05 PM

Vostro A90 order placed: Monday 04/27
Estimated Delivery date: 05/26
Actual Delivery Date: Tuesday 05/12

Turned it on just to see what Ubuntu looked like. Saw & turned it off.
Replaced 1 GB memory and 16 GB SSD with 2GB memory and new 32 GB SSD
Booted up on W7 RC DVD in external Samsung Slimline CD/DVD ROM drive.
Less than 30 minutes later W7 completely installed - not a single issue
21.5 GB free out of 29.7 GB total.
Within 5 minutes connected to my wireless encrypted network-easiest setup ever
Loaded JMicron and Wireless Switch Drivers
Two drivers above cleared all yellow marks in Device Manager
Installed Office 2007 and MS Streets & Trips - No issues

Only a single problem. When I tried to install NOD/Eset a message appeared that said it is NOT compatible with W7. Need to explore this farther.

I will continue to install apps tonight. At this point W7 appears fast and responsive. Keyboard is indded small but not a consequential compromise for my one finger (but lightning speed) typing. Even the touchpad seems not unreasonable to use.
