I have a STEC PATA 32GB - supplied by Dell (UK).

Is this just as fast as the famous RunCore?

It's slower in writes, a bit faster in reads. Write speed is what you notice most. As SSDs go, the STEC is quite good, but the RunCore is better.

I was noticing some slowdowns from the 32gb Supertalent compared to my 8gb STEC(aka OEM) but those have disappeared with the flashpoint write buffering app. It still may not be as fast as the Runcore but it's fast enough. I mean, it's a mini not a file server.

The 64GB SSD in my recently purchased Mini 9 was a RunCore... with a Dell P/N sticker on it.

My opinion of it versus the 16GB STEC SSD is that it beats the STEC hands down - no delays, great read/write speed, etc. I can see why everyone's been buying RunCores.
