Default OSX size on disk - 05-08-2009, 02:45 PM

Hello everyone,

Well, i've just converted my Dell Mini to a mac and it's fully updated. I now have a a few questions.

1) The foot-print of my OSX install is 11.55GB is there any way of making this smaller as i now only have 3.04GB left on my Runcore SSD :-(. I've removed all languages that are not needed etc. Anything else I can shift?

2) Are there any performance tweeks I can do in OSX to help speeds. I know in Windows I disabled the pagefile but not sure if anything similar in OSX as i'm 'fresh-meat'.

Thanks in advance guys n gals

when i did mine, if you dont do a custom install it will take up just about the entire drive. my complete install is about 7.7 gigs fresh after update, about 7gigs with xslimmer.
