Unhappy Temperature monitoring program for windows? - 05-04-2009, 08:45 PM

Can someone suggest a temperature monitoring program for windows that monitors HDD, CPU, and Motherboard at the same time? Preferably that sits in systray… I don't know, is it possible to monitor the RAM temp as well?

Thx

I believe the Mini only has 2 temp sensors. The CPU and the ACPI.

Try this program: http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php

No idea if it'll work with the Mini 9, but I use SpeedFan on my desktop. Works pretty well.

Real temp works, it only shows one senors though. I assume speedfan will work. I use that on my desktop with rainmeter. Everest ultimate will also read temp senors.

I'm surprised nobody ever mentions Notebook Hardware Control: http://www.pbus-167.com/

I have it on my larger laptop and its and excellent free tool. It will tell you the CPU clock speed and its temp, the HDD temp, battery life in time, allow you to adjust voltages and will do much much more.

I tried it on my mini for a little but didn't feel like keeping it due to a lack of storage. The programs' "dynamic frequency switching" feature wasn't supported by the mini so it always displayed a clock speed of 1.6, versus my other laptop that would vary between 800mhz and 2ghz depending on usage. Also, I cant verify if the battery will display a time on the mini, as I was too impatient for it to fully analyze my battery. :?

It's worth checking out.

I agree, airquotes. I used NHC on my older Dell laptop for a long time, and was quite pleased. It will even display real-time temperature and CPU data on your desktop, Samurize-style, if you like. (It monitors the SMART data for your HD as well.) That is interesting to hear that the dynamic switching is not supported with the Atom, however.

Also, NHC will just sit in the systray like the OP wanted, and you can specify which data you'd like to monitor from there as well. It's a very well-made program. Hope this helps, Richi!
