Default Single or Dual Core CPU in Mini-9? - 04-21-2009, 01:54 PM

I had thought the Atom was a Single-core processor that shows up as having two cores due to the Hyperthreading, but I noticed on my order this interesting line....

1 J341J Module,Label,Intel,Tablet,AtomDual Core $0.01

Is the Atom CPU a true dual core unit?

It's a single core CPU, but hyperthreaded. All of the laptop atoms are single core at this point, and the only dual core atoms are almost always in desktops. An Atom 330 is one of these dual core atoms. The N2XX series and the Z5XX series are both single core.
