Default Newbie- How tio have both OSX and XP - 04-18-2009, 03:47 AM

I'm new to the forum and just got my mini today it's has 8bg hd and XP already loaded. I'm not too techinical savvy but want to see if it's easy to have both OSX & XP on my mini9? I don't have a mac though. I'm planning to get a 32 bg runcore..and upgrade RAM to 2gb would that be enough?

Some Q's I have:
1) Do I need a MAC to do the OSX install?
2) How do I partition my HD?
3) Where can I get a good deal on OSX software?
4) Will I need to reinstall XP after I swap out my hd?
5) Are there step by step instructions I can find?

Thanks everyone for your help!

Also, for those that do have dual OS on their mini..what do you think of it? do you like it?

1) no
2) I'd recommend osx disk utility during first doing the mac install (osx=journalled, win=fat); easy and straight forward gui
3) ebay
4) duh, yes ... but xp is more difficult to dual-boot ... upgrade to win7 instead
5) sure ... google and search on this site

osx and win7 are both fast and "efficient" though you'd wish you bought the 64G ssd instead ... dual booting both on this little computer is the best of both worlds!!!
