Hi!!

I´m new around here and I am having a problem with mi mini.

Somehow, after installing Kaspersky it seems to have got a huge amount of viruses and I need to reformat. However, it didn´t come with a CD or USB backup and the being the inspiron 910 the F11 trick doesn´t work.

What do you recommend? I need it urgently so I am trying to avoid calling Dell and having them mail over a USB.

Thanks!!

If the F11 trick is from other Inspiron's that aren't Mini's, I suspect it's for an OS partition that would be on a larger hard drive. The Mini 9 won't have this option.

If it didn't come with any OS restore CD's (specifically OS and then a driver CD), you'll probably want to get at least those. After that, if you have another computer you can use, you can then reformat using USB keys/drives if you have any available. I have yet to do an install via a USB optical drive, and I have formatted and reformatted both of my Mini 9's numerous times.

Hope that helps some.. Feel free to ask more questions!

OK! Thanks!

After spending most of the afternoon trying to find a way I guess I will have to take the long route and ask Dell for the USB or the CD´s.

Thanks a lot!

Yeah, the CD's you want regardless. If you have another computer with a CD drive, then you are good if you have a 1 GB USB key to reinstall the OS and stuff. If not, then you'll probably want to either a) buy an optical drive or b) have a friend who has a computer with an optical drive create a USB key with the OS and drivers on it.

Good luck!
