| Super Moderator Posts: 1,203 Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: Detroit | If the F11 trick is from other Inspiron's that aren't Mini's, I suspect it's for an OS partition that would be on a larger hard drive. The Mini 9 won't have this option. If it didn't come with any OS restore CD's (specifically OS and then a driver CD), you'll probably want to get at least those. After that, if you have another computer you can use, you can then reformat using USB keys/drives if you have any available. I have yet to do an install via a USB optical drive, and I have formatted and reformatted both of my Mini 9's numerous times. Hope that helps some.. Feel free to ask more questions! If you have another computer with a CD drive, then you are good if you have a 1 GB USB key to reinstall the OS and stuff. If not, then you'll probably want to either a) buy an optical drive or b) have a friend who has a computer with an optical drive create a USB key with the OS and drivers on it. Good luck!
