So, after I ripped out my 8G STEC ssd
, and installed the 32G supertalent one (and got osx installed, and quite happy) - I was thinking, "what to do with the old 8g ssd
I had tried the "dell-buntu" (Factory installed Ubuntu), and found it horrid. I thought about selling that old SSD
, but the going rate on eBay is like- 10 bucks. Not worth the effort.
So, I decided it was at least good for one purpose-- my "Rambo" dual boot. That is, the second SSD
I have, the 8G one, was eventually set up with XP, and everything I'd need in Windows to have a useful OS. It's now back in its case, and is tucked in my laptop carrying bag.
So, if I ever get to the situation where my OSX setup becomes horribly borked, and I'm on the road, a quick swap and I'll have a useable laptop still. Yes, XP instead of OSX, but it's a working backup. Stuff can happen...
So, for those of you with 4g or 8g SSD
's, set it up with your favorite backup OS, and tuck it in your laptop case!
