Say no to boring landscape shots on the desktop. (warning! 1.75 MB file size - 1024 x 600) http://www.fractalfreak.com/wx/boos_fra ... ktop_2.bmp |

The groups guitarist/vocalist, John Baizley, also does the artwork for the band and it is quite striking! You can check out the band(I love their latest, "Red Album") and see some more of his artwork at http://www.myspace.com/yourbaroness. I must admit that I took a little bit of a liberty with this piece, changing the color of the image and taking out the band name(I hope they don't mind too much). I then created the background with a design based upon the leaves in the halo around the girl. I then added a fade on the left and right edges so that desktop icons are easier to see since a lot of users keep icons to either the far left or right. Oh, I must add that this was done with The Gimp and Inkscape under Ubuntu 8.10. Also, I liked it so much I am having a skin made for my Mini with this piece. I'll post it to the other thread when I get it in place. Enjoy!, RMFlagg |
