So I have tried everything I can think of an Hulu videos just wont play back smoothly on my mini9.

Cartoons come across fine but anyhting thats real video has an ever so slight chop to it that makes it annoying to watch. The only way I can get it bearable is to popout the video and then full screen it, even then its just a little off.

Its a shame because the mini 9 is so perfectly suited for being a portable hulu player except for what feels like being 5% underpowered.

Anyone gotten their hulu working properly?

you might try updating your flash player, disabling unneeded services, applications, background tasks, processes, themes, tasks, etc.

Try opening hulus website in various browsers, ie, ffox, chrome, opera, safari, etc.

I'll definiely try those things, have you gotten it to work smoothly? I would kind of like to hear a success from someone before I frustrate myself too much trying...

i think this is expected. i tried streaming a hosue episode from hulu and it had small pauses every 5 to 10 seconds. audio works fine but the video will pause and freeze.

same thing with youtube when played in high quality. hi-def youtube doesn't even play. youtube normal quality works fine however.

I'm using OS 10.5.6 with a 32gb Super Talent and 2gb Corsair RAM. I use Firefox and Hulu fullscreen fails miserably.

I haven't tried with the other browsers

Same here. Actually, the cartoons like Family Guy still gets choppy on my Dell Mini loaded with 2GB RAM and 32GB Runcore. So I never bothered trying live-action stuff where there are much more movements.

Still running the Dell Ubuntu (for the moment) and Hulu runs fine as long as not in fullscreen mode or 480p. To make it fullscreen, I just pop-out and enlarge.

Thats interesting, when I was using ubuntu and firefox hulu was pretty poor, now on windows (both xp and 7) hulu plays decent but still noteably drops frames. So I guess I got the opposite experience...

That's a shame because there are some good shows on hulu so looks like I wont be able to totally ditch the full size laptop (I like to sit outside when its sunny and watch videos while kicking back).

use safari. much better experience.

Are you running other things in the background?
