I agree. While waiting for my Mini to ship, I nLited XP and slimmed it down to just what I needed. Added all the Dell drivers to the image, and then wrote it to a USB memory stick.
As soon as I unboxed the Mini, I powered it up to verify it would boot, rebooted during the initial setup and booted from the memory stick and installed XP. I stripped IE and installed Firefox, same with WMP and VLC. I have since been nothing but pleased and amazed by the Mini, and haven't experienced most of the problems everyone else is, like stuttered video when streaming.
As I understand it, the XP restore CD that ships with the Mini is strictly the OS; Everything else, the 'bloatware', is on the Applications CD that also ships with the Mini. If that's the case, I'd recommend immediately reinstalling from the provided XP CD, at a minimum.
