Default Bluetooth - 03-25-2009, 06:13 PM

I just got my dell mini and am loving it, but have a question. I didn't order it with bluetooth, and very quickly started regretting it. Is there a way (other than buying a dongle) to get bluetooth on it?

Go to and start a chat. Tell the CSR you want to order part number J613H. This is the Wireless bluetooth module which includes the cable. I believe it runs about $20 plus shipping. You will have to open up your mini to install the module, but it's not too hard and there are plenty of instructions and helpful people on this site to help you through the process.

I tried this, but the operator told me that it was a piece that was in high demand and not currently available. However, I did buy a replacement palmrest from and lo and behold, it had one installed. So I got a little extra with my purchase.

Not to be a noob, even though I am one, but what do you use bluetooth for on a netbook?

I use it with my Bluetooth headset to listen to audio without using the speakers, using the headset microphone for chat programs, or tethering my Blackberry for data (Internet) access when there isn't an access point in the area.
