Okay, this is totally infuriating.
I ordered my Dell Mini on 9/5. They delayed, and delayed, and delayed. Eventually it got to 30 days past my order date and they had to get approval from me to extend the delay past 30 days. I said fine, since they said it would only be another week. Then the next delay put the ship date at 11/10! Had I known it would go that long, I would not have approved the delay past 30 days.
Then last week they put up the 500 Mini's on the outlet store, so I bought one on Thursday. It arrived two days ago on Monday. I made sure it worked fine and held up under my normal usage for a day.
So today I went to cancel my original order of 9/5 and they won't let me! Let me say that again, they won't let me cancel the order! They say it's too far along for me to cancel it. BUT, they still don't have all the parts to even ship the order and it's not estimated to ship out for another two weeks! They said they still need some LCD plate to complete the order.
Dell says they will let me call them and ship it back when it gets here, but by that time my card will be charged and I'll have to wait till they get it back and process the return before I see the charge reversed.
I tried calling my bank, but they say that because I approved the payment when I ordered, there's nothing they can do unless they cancel my card and set up a new one. (Not an option for me.)
Does anyone have any ideas what to do to get Dell to cancel this order? I tried talking to the Dell person's supervisor, but no go. There's got to be a way to do it. They haven't even finished putting the order together, they won't ship it for two weeks, and they haven't even charged my card yet.
