Default Can you use Slingblox with the Mini - 03-15-2009, 01:37 AM

I have been thinking of purchasing a slingbox but not sure if it will work on everything. I was told my internet card with Sprint will only allow one full movie a month with slingbox? Anyone using slingbox?

haven't used it on the mini 9, but I do know it works ok on an Asus EeePC 1000H with no problem over a home wireless network.

The slingbox will tune it's streaaming based on link speed.

I haven't installed it on my mini 9 yet. It spends most of it's time in Ubuntu....

I would stay away from SlingPlayer 2.0 which is way too bloated and is very slow to open on the Mini. The browser-based version is slightly better but still not quite ready for prime time. ops:

With a little bit of searching, you can still download SlingPlayer v1.5.1.335 which loads the slingbox video immediately unlike v2.0 which takes forever to start. It also consumes much less resources and uses alot less SSD space than v2.0!

PQ still isn't nearly as good as from external HDTV tuner though:
